Aims and Objectives
The overall aim of the programme is to provide students with a primarily scientific or engineering-based educational background with business skills relevant for pursuing managerial careers in internationally orientated manufacturing and service industries. The need for such skills is growing rapidly as graduates are increasingly expected to assume broader tasks and responsibilities than most technical universities have traditionally prepared them for. The programme is accredited by the Top Industrial Managers Europe (TIME) Association: a confederacy of leading technical universities in Europe.
Scope and Structure of the Programme
The programme covers a broad range of managerial topics and gradually deepens the students’ knowledge of these. Particular emphasis is placed on topics of great relevance for technical university graduates, such as operations and supply chain management. Another key feature of the programme is its integrative teaching approach aimed at developing the ability of students to tackle managerial issues in an interdisciplinary manner. The fourth semester is entirely devoted to industry-related project work in close collaboration with European companies, forming the basis for a master thesis to be submitted towards the end of the semester. The duration of the programme is four semesters (two years). Students will spend a semester at each of the three participating universities, thus having the opportunity to leave a fully enriched multicultural experience and to get accustomed to different working environments
Who Should Consider this Programme?
Graduates with a bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution (minimum 3 years full-time study) in a scientific or technical discipline who wish to broaden their educational background to pursue a managerial career in an international industrial environment.
Mature graduates with a few years relevant work experience, fulfilling the above academic requirements, who wish to enhance their portfolio of professional skills matching those required for managerial positions in an international industrial environment.
